A few years ago (2013), I started a blog, Forward Love: a visual journal, to share my passion for words and glimpses into my journey from a painful childhood. I've decided to merge this blog with my art blog because along this journaling journey, I realized even more how much my art is inspired by my life experiences - the joys, the painful, and the laughters. It makes sense to me as an artist not to separate my art from my past and present experiences. Forward Love is a visual journal of documenting moments of God's loving grace and of life's randomness and mess in my life because there is grace in everyday living and art in everyday life.
It is a platform to challenge myself with one of my fears of being transparent, while using art and words to share moments of my journey as someone walking on the path of thriving from a painful childhood, and who is on a lifelong journey of running free with God in the cage of ptsd. In sharing and forwarding love, I hope we will see how God meets us where were are at. I pray we willingly open our hearts to love and forgiveness. And to be honest, I have no idea where I'm going with this journal, but I'm going to create art, write and share my words with the hopes of adding more meaning into my life, as well as encouraging you to start or remain boldly on your path of healing. Furthermore, Forward Love journal is not a cookie-cutter-quick-fix-how-to-journal for how one overcomes a painful past because I'm still on the journey; learning, growing and struggling while working on clinging to Jesus daily. I hope that you will find the courage to step out in faith, to work on the layers of your hurts, to confront it, to not be afraid to hope for a joyful life, while not giving up when the storms seem unbearable. With love, I pray that we keep on keeping on. To view my current jounal entries visit here and for resources that may help you along your journey visit a book list that I complied for you. Peace.
In case you are wondering, my first name is pronounced sa-rome and welcome to my visual thread of art, digital photography and design; where ideas, images and words meet. I'm excited and giddy that you've dropped by! My days consist of the beautiful chaos of raising and nurturing two little ones and my free time is dedicated to creating. Read more about me here. Happy Inspirations!
grace /grās/: the love and mercy given to us by God not because of anything we have done to earn it.
