I am honored that you have taken the time to check out my words section - a visual journal. To be honest, I am not sure where it's going but I am just going to write and share. The thought of writing a journaling blog on a regular and formal basis is intimidating to me, so to be true to myself (and how random and messy life can get), this blog may be irregular, random, informal and similar to my sketchbooks. However, it will not lack in sincerity that is rooted in my desire to be open and authentic. This journal is an avenue for me to overcome fears of transparency so that we may open our hearts to love, healing and forgiveness. In sharing and in forwarding love, I wanted to give you a chance to peek into my heart. I am prayerfully hoping that this journal will help us to see how God meets us in our beautiful mess called life.
You mean a lot to me and I appreciate that you have taken time out of your day to read my words, words that are inadequate when compared to the loving words of my Savior, Jesus Christ. For those that I do not know personally or have never met, I am even more blessed to have you on here. You are appreciated and loved here and I am praying that you'll be encouraged to know that you are not alone in your journey.
This website, artbysaroum.com, originally started out as a portfolio of my artistic and creative passions (art, photography, graphic design and crafts). I love creating and writing was a private passion of mine. One thing that was missing on this website, was sharing my passion for words because I've been hesitant to share my personal words, since they are glimpses into my heart, into the dark and painful moments but also into my joys and laughter. I've always been drawn to words, I think it's because I have a hard time verbalizing my thoughts and most of the time what's in my brain sounds better than what comes out of my mouth, and when pen meets paper or as in this case, when fingers meet keys, it usually sounds better (I hope).
Lately I have been writing more, due to the experiences of losing my Dad and beloved Shih Tzu, Bear, within such a short time apart. These losses have caused a ripple effect in my life to just write, which has been a tool in my healing, as well as stirring up emotions and painful memories that I hope to share with you when I muster up the courage to do so. I felt challenged to write more, but to also step out of my comfort zone to share my thoughts and experiences with the world (your eyes and hopefully your hearts). These recent tragedies have caused my heart to open up more to all the possibilities in seeing God's grace and experiencing joy in the small things even in the painful ones.
I look forward to taking this journey of healing together and looking forward to finding and embracing God's grace in our daily lives, even when the road is uncertain and the nights are chaotic.
What I Believe (in Words)
I want to meet Him at His words daily. I want to meet Him when life is messy and when life is perky. Thus, this journal is my way of visually documenting these desires and showing you that life at times is imperfect and uncertain, but with a loving God life is worthwhile. I pray that you will meet Him at His words, and that you grow to love and know Him as you open your eyes to seeing His grace in your daily lives, and open your hearts to embracing His love. I am excited to go on this journey of growth with you. Thank you for meeting me at my words.
May we be wrapped up in His Grace,
Love Saroum (sa-roam)
