I've been struggling lately with creating art and overlapping it with my faith. How do I create art and share my love for Jesus and what He means to me without producing art that's preachy or cliche? If Jesus is a part of me and He gave me this gift to create, I find it harder to not have His essence in each of the art pieces that I produce and to stop compartmentalizing Him and my art.
I read something online today saying that being an artist is not about competition or jealousy, but about answering a calling that God has for each artist. Our experiences (no matter how much talent we have) is what God will use to fuel our work. It's a matter of doing the work that is the hardest for me. However, I am hoping to document this process of having Jesus in my art.
