I think what is great in recovery and healing is the ability to use our pain to help others, whether with our time, talents, or monetary donations. I do not think our painful experiences are in vain because I trust that God will use it for good during the right time in our lives, we just have to be willing. I find it a blessing to be able to help others, even if it's only one person that we help, God can do anything to further that blessing. During the times I volunteer my time, I am the one blessed by those that I was there to help. God is that gracious! I encourage anyone to take a leap of faith and look into offering your time to help a ministry in your church or an organization in your community. I also noticed in my experiences that when I do commit to helping others, I focus less on my circumstances and worry less about what negative stuff I am feeling or thinking.
At the expense of looking like I am boasting, I wanted to share something worth sharing and that is so exciting for me. Yesterday, my husband and I received the above package in the mail from World Vision, in which we have been sponsoring a sweet child for years, and my heart was overjoyed! Our sponsored child no longer needs our help because her community and family have been able to reach their goals of becoming a self-sufficient community. They have overcame many challenges and praise God for that! Although, our contribution was small, who knows the wonders of how God was able to multiply that gift. Even though I will miss letters, reports, and communication about our sponsored child, I am hopeful that her life will continue to be less challenging in things that I sometimes have taken for granted, like food, clothes, and clean water. But I am confident that because she knows God, no matter her trials, she will be ok.
In God's grace, which was visually evident from this package in the mail, I see that no matter the size of our gifts of giving or the length of time that we do serve, every effort makes an impact even if we do not see it, we just trust that God has it all figured out and He always does! Blessings everyone. Forward ❤.
