I decided to do a little research first before taking more pictures for The SUN Project. I looked up what the colors of the sun is and found out that, "the sun is essentially all colors mixed together, which appear to our eyes as white." I'm really excited about learning this because of the fine artist in me no longer feeling limited to the basic colors that I often associate with the sun (orange, yellow, red). This pushes me to think more as a fine artist when photographing for this project. The above image, is my tribute to all the colors of the sun, despite it being a black and white photograph. I took this picture through the front window of my truck at a stop light in downtown, San Diego after a day of rain. Obviously, my window was a bit dirty, but I think this gives the photograph more character due to its graininess quality. That day, the sky was a deep blue, the trees a bit greener, the clouds were white, fluffy and prominent, and the smell of rain was still present. I chose to not share a color photograph because I wanted to convey the cozy feeling one get after a rainy day, as well as the brightness of the sun, while representing white, black and gray tones as possible colors not commonly associated with the sun.
